The Detroit Lions have 'real' interest in Reggie Bush this offseason.

The Lions had hoped Jahvid Best would fill their hybrid running back role, but has suffered a series of concussions.

Steven Jackson intends to void the final season of his contract with the St. Louis Rams to become a free agent this offseason.

The Rams have appeared completely unwilling to agree to a long-term deal with Jackson.

Jackson is scheduled to earn $7 million in salary for the 2013 season.

Joe Flacco's agent is scheduled to meet with the Baltimore Ravens this week.

Joe Linta has been trading phone calls in recent days with the Ravens to discuss a sit down.

The Ravens will use their franchise tag on Flacco if they are unable to agree on a long-term deal.

Ravens general manager Ozzie Newsome said he's "optimistic" that the team will get a long-term deal done.

The exclusive tag would take $20 million of cap space for the Ravens this season.

The New Orleans Saints will ask Jonathan Vilma and Will Smith to restructure their current deals with the team, according to sources.

Smith is due $10.15 million for 2013, while Vilma is owed $6 million in the final year of his deal.

The Saints were $13.5 million over the cap as of Friday.

The Kansas City Chiefs are interested in keeping Dwayne Bowe.

Bowe accepted the Chiefs' one-year, $9.5 million offer last summer.

Bowe and the Chiefs are discussing a new deal.

The New York Jets are not interested in signing Ahmad Bradshaw.

Bradshaw, who has parted ways with the New York Giants, expressed interest in joining the Jets on Tuesday.

The Green Bay Packers will need to sign Aaron Rodgers and Clay Matthews to significant contract extensions.

Rodgers admitted that Joe Flacco's deal with the Baltimore Ravens will likely set a benchmark for him.

"I think everybody is going to see what Joe [Flacco] ends up signing for," Rodgers said. 

Drew Brees signed a five-year, $100 million contract last offseason with the Saints.

"We'll get a deal done," Rodgers said. "I'm not worried about that." 

Rodgers will likely eclipse the deal signed by Brees.

The Philadelphia Eagles are in contract discussions with Dennis Dixon, according to sources.

Dixon played at Oregon for Chip Kelly.

Kelly has said that the Eagles would not run the same offense he used at Oregon.

Dixon spent the 2012 season on the Baltimore Ravens' practice squad.

The Eagles currently have Michael Vick, Nick Foles and Trent Edwards on their roster for 2013.

The St. Louis Rams have claimed Titus Young.

Young was waived by the Detroit Lions on Monday.

Jeff Fisher has a history of taking risks on volatile but talented players.

The Rams were the only team to file a claim on Young.

Victor Cruz will be a restricted free agent this offseason and the New York Giants will likely use a first-round RFA one-year tender of $2.879 million on him in March if they cannot come to terms on a long-term extension.

“We certainly want him back, but like with any player, there's a limit to where we’re going to go," the Giants' co-owner told reporters Friday, according to the Newark Star-Ledger. "He's been a terrific player for us, he’s a fan favorite, he does a lot for our franchise, but there is a limit." 

The Giants are projected to be $4.7 million over the cap for 2013.

Cruz hopes he can reach a deal with the Giants.

“Hopefully we get something together and create a long-term deal that keeps me in New York for a while,” he said. “That's all I'm focused on. That's all I want. I feel like I've done enough to prove to the front office that I'm worthy of being in a blue uniform for a very long time. Hopefully they see it the same way."
